iTravel NZ: A Day Trip to Hobbiton!

DSCN0192.JPG

It’s a Hobbiton Day!
People have been buzzing about ‘Hobbiton’ when they heard I’d be going to New Zealand. Honestly, I am not really a big fan of Lord of the Rings trilogy or Hobbiton series BUT because a dear friend, who is a big fan is going to visit New Zealand soon I became interested to go check myself if it is something I would recommend for her itinerary when she visits NZ. Even if I have not read the book nor watched all the movies I’ve found it to be interesting and fascinating. So, my answer is an absolutely YES!

Just GO. Once you are in the North Island of New Zealand, you must seize the opportunity to go on a journey to the Hobbiton Movie Set. It is an experience like none other and for any Lord of the Ring fan (or NOT..just like me), one that can’t be missed.

My friend and I (both new in NZ) decided to look for a good deal to visit Hobbiton on our own. We booked it from Intercity. The trip took about 4 hours bus-ride (including transfers). Make sure to pack lunch or grab something to bite as there will not be many restaurants in designated stops.

WHAT TO SEE

Along the emerald fields and rolling hills of Hobbit shire, there were so many Hobbit holes in different sizes. Some are big, but most are small.
